All Day Breakfast
/Hi, we are District Of Toast and we serve breakfast all day long. We use locally sourced produce because we believe food should be as wholesome as it gets.
We love breakfast! Who doesn’t? Really, who doesn’t, we want to know and take a photo of an undoubted alien. We love breakfast so much that is not enough to only have it in the morning. Probably “brunch” pops into your head right now, but no, delaying breakfast for an hour and skipping lunch is not enough either. We want breakfast all day, everyday!
That is exactly what you will find at DOT. Dreaming of pancakes for dinner? We got you covered with our famous cornflour pancakes (wait, what?). Omelette for a late snack? Why not? Take it with Năsal, the famous cheese from Țaga (Cluj county), unique in the world. For any time of the day you can also get scrambled eggs with mushrooms. We only use pastured eggs (in case this term is too fancy for you, it means the chickens have access to a yard to run around in and do whatever chickens do and only go into the coop to lay eggs and sleep - in other terms: chicken goals) and mushrooms from the collection center in Târgul Lăpuș. We always get something new and seasonal and we make a mix of the mushrooms we have. For example, this week we had boletus and honey fungus. We also have omelette with Buffalo cheese, which we make with lavender infused butter.
If you had enough omelettes, then you HAVE TO try our pesto made with local aromatic herbs and Burduf cheese balls which come directly from the sheepfold.
And yes, we do serve Full English Breakfast, thank you for asking. We make it with an awesome sausage that we specially selected from a local butchery, locally sourced beans and homemade tomato sauce. What more could you ask for? Are you only free in the evening? No worries, we are serving it until closing time.
Full English Breakfast on a toast, the DOT way
Have your breakfast with a cup of coffee (be warned, our latte art can sometimes be naughty), a fresh juice squeezed by us with our left hand or a glass of wine if you want, who are we to judge?
We take this seriously
If you are not actually a breakfast lover, but your girlfriend is dragging you to that new hipster place at 8 a.m. on a Sunday, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Order some ribs and a craft beer and you are good to go. You could also get a lentil toast with those amazing sausages we told you about. Or if you’re feeling a bit fancy, you could try the duck breast with peeled vegetables, cooked in homemade butter and condiments. If you’re more the old school type, you cannot go wrong with our pulled pork: we toast the bread, we bake the beetroot, we marinate it and spread it on the bread. Then we add our pulled pork, which we slow cook for 20 hours. At the end we add Parmesan and balsamic vinegar. We have 76 artisanal beers that go well with all of the above. Or wine. Or cocktails.
